Welcome to my CB450 page!

I had started my fun with motorcycles during the spring of 2002 when I purchased my Yamaha R6.  During the following winter, I had some time on my hands and thought I should learn about working on motorcycles so I could avoid the $70/hr. service charges at the dealership.

I started watching eBay and the local paper and came across a perfect candidate to learn on.  A 71 CB450 for about $450.  It wasn't in great shape, but the listing said it ran and mainly needed cosmetic work.  So I purchased the bike with the intentions of learning to how motorcycles work and getting used to general maintenance. This way I wouldn't make a costly mistake on my brand new R6.

I had not initially planned on restoring/modifying the CB450, but being somewhat of a perfectionist, and looking at a 30+ year old machine, that side of me kicked in and before I knew it I was in the middle of a full fledged restoration.

This page has general information about CB450s and detailed information about my restoration. So follow along and email me with any questions and comments.
